What is meant for you, will always find you.

After 15 years behind a desk, Filipa decided to build the life she always dreamed of. Until then, she had many awesome screen-kissing positions such as Project Manager for the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon, tutor for EDIT Digital School and Head Editor for National Geographic’s Digital edition in Portugal. Filipa worked in companies such as The Walt Disney, UNESCO, Global Exploration Summit, and Amnesty International. She speaks four languages and authored over 150 stories for National Geographic. Her extensive work communicating science has helped to expose several discoveries across the country.

But she was still missing a part of the puzzle.

That was when National Geographic decided to close several editions across the world, and Portugal was one of the first ones to suffer the effects of the “big fishes”. The teams had to leave the offices and then she finally verbalized: If not now, when?

That was how L’Aventura was born.

Filipa serves as the Vice-President of The Explorers Club Portugal Chapter. Her passions lie in exploration, science communication and blue water.
